CAPSTONE

Melanie was lucky enough to have the opportunity to student teach under Miranda Lema, Placer County's teacher of the year 2022, at Granite Oaks Middle School. Melanie was the student teacher for art for seventh and eighth graders. She taught several lessons during her placement and built connections with students during her visits. While student teaching, Melanie also started substitute teaching at GOMS, as well as other schools in RUSD. Melanie was able to connect with students and build trust that got students excited to see her whenever she was on campus.
