TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

My Technology Use

As a student technology has always been integrated into my learning. I used to go to computer labs to learn to type. Later on, I started getting assignments that needed to be done online, and now my schooling is completely online. I have used laptops, phones, iPads, desktop computers, cameras and more to do schoolwork. Wether it was typing on the computer or using photoshop for an electronic art class, technology was always incorporated. I have learned to use Word, Pages, and started learning about Photoshop recently. I got an Apple Pencil and iPad to start dabbling in electronic sketching and painting. Technology has enhanced my learning in several ways throughout my schooling. Since the internet has so much information to offer, when I had a question, sometimes instead of contacting a teacher or arranging a study group, it was easier and more beneficial to look up a topic I needed to know more about. At times it could be hard when a file crashed or when I was learning to use a new program. Yet, technology is still important to be used in schools by both students and teachers. As a teacher I plan to have technology fully integrated into the classroom. Meaning students can use phones, computers, cameras and more to aid them. When it comes to art, it is important to have references, therefore using a phone or computer to search the internet is important. When creating work using a camera to photograph your art and have it posted for people to view can help get your name out there. Also, it will help students to learn how to use some software when it comes to digital editing in order to make sure the images of their work are high quality. I would even let students listen to music while working on projects to let them be more creative and get in the right head space to be productive. I will be using stereos, projectors, computers and more to help instruct students.

Using Technology in the Classroom

Using websites and applications in the classroom is a great idea. Students use apps and website for classes constantly. Wether they are educational based like Quizlet, Pages, Google slide or Tedtalk or are adapted to be used for school does not matter. They can both be beneficial to both students and teachers. I have used these resources on my computer and phone and they have all helped me get through classes. Wether it was to study or complete assignments, they were a great asset. At the beginning of the semester it would be great as a teacher to announce several resources for students to use. As well as mentioning any apps they may need during the semester so they can start downloading them and getting familiar with how to use them. Technology is a big part of education, and for good reason. Having technology integrated into a classroom, benefits both the teacher and the students. I have had the privilege of learning several different ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. The following is a brief list of examples of both applications I am familiar with as well as skills I have developed.

Technology Integration: Text

Youtube

Uploading content to Youtube is a great way to have prepared material to use during a lesson. Students can reference them on their own, and substitutes can use them during class when needed.
